The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is the largest undergraduate student-run event programming organization at Drexel University. Its purpose is to plan and execute a variety of successful events, reflective of the diverse interests and needs of the undergraduate student body. CAB strives, through its programs, to entertain, educate and enrich, while building a cohesive campus community.

CAB is divided into five committees that program a very diverse set of events the Drexel University undergraduate communities. They consist of Lectures and Diversity, Performing Arts, Traditions, Special Events and Marketing.

Lectures and Diversity Committee
L&D is here to promote learning and inter-culturalism on Drexel’s campus with a twist. We know that stuff can be really boring, so we’re trying to flip it upside down. With everything from small academic discussions over coffee to the huge multicultural Drexel’s Best Dance Crew competition. Other events planned include Women in Society Dinner, Black History Month ceremonies, and other recognized and diverse lecture series.

Performing Arts Committee
The purpose of the Performing Arts committee is to plan events that will expose students to various performing arts within Philadelphia as well as outside of the Philadelphia area. Examples of this are trips to New York City for Broadway shows, plays and performances in Philadelphia, cultural festivals, and free movies series.

Traditions Committee
Bringing large scale events to the broadest audience of people is the main objective for Traditions. This committee is responsible for organizing and executing the following annual events: New Student Day Carnival, the Comedy Show, the Crystal Ball, and Drexel’s Spring Jam.

Special Events Committee
Special Events is a catch all committee responsible for programming events that don’t quite fit into the descriptions of the other committees. These would include all the Philly sports events (Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, Union, etc.), ski trips, amusement park trips, and cooking lessons downtown.

Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee is comprised of three teams: the Public Relations Team, Graphic Design Team, and the Promotions Team. The committee’s main function is to market all of CAB’s events and the organization as a whole to the Drexel Community.

CAB has taken more steps to build campus unity over the past year by taking part in WMMR 93.3 Preston & Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger and the Philabundance Food Drive, the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, and partnering up with the Community Alumni Network at Drexel University (CAN DU) for the annual clean-up in Fairmount Park.
