CAB Presents: The Muppets, starring Amy Adams and Jason Segal.  With the help of three fans, The Muppets must reunite to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon. On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways.

This is an opportunity for students who know (or do not know) Dr. Haroian to come and hear him speak about his life. The talk – or lecture – is very informal. Dr. Haroian will tell us about his college life, his career and all other things you want to know about him. Yes, you will be able to ask him probing questions. Take this as the opportunity to talk to Dr. Haroian about the little things he went off tangent with during lectures.

CAB Presents: Broadway’s Memphis! Come out and enjoy a day in New York City as well as a Tony winning musical.  For just $20, students will receive bus fare and a ticket to see the “Best New Musical” Memphis.  The bus will leave from in front of Towers at 10am sharp and will arrive in Times Square at 12.  The show doesn’t start till 3 so students will have the opportunity to explore around the city for a bit beforehand.  The bus will then depart from NYC at 6pm.  Tickets are only $20 and are 1 per I.D.

Come out and join CAB for a day of fashion in New York City during Fashion Week 2012.

Activities will include a fashion exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Technology, some free time to explore Manhattan, and students will be able to attend a fashion show at the famous Waldorf Astoria hotel.

The bus will depart from Towers Hall at 9:30am on Saturday February 18, 2012 and will drop students off in the Chelsea District of Manhattan. Students will be back at Drexel by 10pm

With 50 romantic rooftop murals from 45th to 63rd Streets along the Market Street line, these expressions of an artist’s love for a SEPTA worker are unmatched in creativity. Love Letter, which will be documented in two books, a film, and a gallery exhibition, speaks to all those who have loved and for those who long for a way to express that love to the world around them.

Crystal Ball is a night full of dancing and dining on January 27th 2012. The annual dance will be held at the Arts Ballroom on the Avenue of the Arts and will feature delicious dining from Stephen STARR Catering. Bring out your pearls, lip rouge, and semi formal attire because we will be taking you back to the Roaring 20′s for the night. The evening will include live music and entertainment in a vintage atmosphere.

Tickets are $30 per student and $50 per couple, and are 2 per ID for Drexel Undergraduates. They go on sale Monday, January 9th at 5:30pm in the CAB Office. Shuttles will leave the Recreation Center Lobby from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

CAB’s Comedy week Presents: Comedy Show 2011

The Campus Activities Board will host their 12th Annual Fall Comedy Show on November 12th, 2011 in the Main Auditorium at 7:00 PM.

Join CAB for a night of laughs with up-and-coming comedians Mo Mandel, Natasha Leggero, Sheng Wang, and Dan Ahdoot.

This event is FREE for Drexel University undergraduate students. Guests of Drexel undergraduates can purchase a ticket for $5.00 at the door. 1 guest per ID. Doors open at 6:00PM and seating is first come first serve. Please bring your valid Drexel ID to the show.

Mo Mandel

Mo Mandel frequently appears on Chelsea Lately and stars opposite Hank Azaria in a new sitcom on NBC called Free Agents. Mo has also made appearances on Modern Family, Conan Obrien, Craig Ferguson, Love Bites, and in his own highly rated Comedy Central Special. Mandel’s first CD, “The M-Word” comes out soon on Comedy Central Records.

Natasha Leggero

For the past six years, Natasha has performed stand-up all over the country and abroad, including appearances on Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central, Jay Leno, Reno 911, VH1′s Best Week Ever, Till Death, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, He’s Just Not That Into You, and MTV’s 70 House. Natasha is a regular on Chelsea Lately, and can also be seen as Emma in the NBC sitcom Free Agents.

Stop by Lancaster Walk November 11th between 12 and 3pm  to get warmed up for comedy week!  The entertainment will include Juggling Josh, a professional Juggler and unicyclist who will amaze you with his amazing stunts, a balloon artist, and caricature sketch artist.  Stop by to watch the performance, grab a balloon and a sketch, then snack on some free hot dogs, cotton candy, pop corn, and hot cider.

Craving some good comedy? Getting tired of Comedy Central reruns? Then come out to the Student Comedy Competition presented by Campus Activities Board, Late Night Series, and this year’s special guest, Philly Improv Theater, for a night of fresh comedic entertainment accompanied by free pizza and drinks. The show takes place on Thursday, November 10 from 8:00 to 10:30 in the Creese Student Center.  The winner will perform in the Annual Fall Comedy Show, receive three free tickets to the show, and earn a free improv class with Philly Improv Theater. Come out and enjoy a night of laughs and food while supporting Drexel’s aspiring talent.
