What do I do as an event volunteer?

As an event volunteer, you are meant to be an extension of the event planner, in a way. Your specific responsibilities will change from event to event, but we have listed some common things volunteers do below:

  • Setup + Breakdown of all event supplies, decorations, attractions, F&B, etc.

  • Manage entry to the event by checking in attendees on DragonLink or another ticketing platform.

  • Greeting attendees as they enter the event + being available to answer any questions they might have.

  • Communicate with vendors at an event to help them get setup in the right place and provide them all necessary equipment/resources (power, tables, chairs, etc.)

  • Off-Campus Events - Make sure all attendees know where they are to meet the bus and ensure all students are in the bus/subway/car before leaving.
