PRESIDENT
GENERAL OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
The president is the executive event producer and senior leader for the Campus Activities Board at Drexel University. This person is tasked with overseeing all operations for the organization, setting short-term + long-term goals for CAB, providing the organization and its membership opportunities for growth, and leading CAB to success. This is an elected position.
DUTIES:
*Although the list below aims to be a comprehensive view of what this role will entail, all roles on CAB are subject to change and duties are likely to be expanded or contracted during your time serving in this role.
General Duties:
Preside over all general body meetings (GBMs) + executive board meetings.
Oversee all CAB operations and hold ultimate responsibility for the organization.
Serve as the official spokesperson and representative for CAB to the Drexel community and all external partners or relevant parties.
Maintain the cab@drexel.edu email account.
Inspect all CAB events, procedures, systems, and general operations to ensure they comply with the Campus Activities Board constitution and the Drexel University Code of Conduct.
Meet with CAB’s advisor on a regular basis to keep them informed of all CAB’s current activities.
Facilitate new relationships with student organizations, departments at Drexel University, vendors, and other companies to provide CAB with prosperous opportunities for growth.
Administer a safe environment for all members of CAB to be purely themselves.
Encourage a positive outlook on CAB’s future by creating long-term and short-term goals for the organization and all of its committees and members.
Member Responsibilities Oversight:
Interview and appoint all members of the executive board in addition to any special, non-exec roles that CAB chooses to employ.
Guide the professional and leadership development of executive board members as well as general members of CAB.
Conduct regular assessments of the general board’s opinion of their direct leadership and the executive board as a whole.
Assist the Vice President in the facilitation of judicial actions and judiciary meetings with CABbies.

Act as the primary source of guidance for all things CAB…
When questions are proposed and there is no apparent answer, take it upon yourself to find the best answer or solution.
Anticipate problems before they occur. This could be in regard to events, member satisfaction, organizational growth, co-sponsorship with other organizations, etc.
Regularly evaluate the state of CAB’s effectiveness, efficiency, and organizational culture. When necessary, make decisions or implement changes to improve CAB’s operations and culture.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / PREREQUISITES:
Required Experience:
The candidate must have been an active member of CAB for at least six (6) quarters prior to the term they will be taking office
These quarters do not need to be concurrent or uninterrupted.
The candidate must be in good standing in CAB as well as Drexel University. They may not have any current disciplinary actions or sanctions against them.
The candidate must be enrolled as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year and must be on-campus for the full duration of the term of service.
It is acceptable for the candidate to be on co-op for up to (2) terms during their holding of the presidential office. However, they must live in/be based primarily out of Philadelphia.

You are willing to be the captain that sinks or floats along with their ship and their crew.
You have an overall positive mentality towards receiving feedback from those that you lead and you actively work on being the best version of yourself to fulfill the needs of your committee members.
You are adaptable and a problem-solver.
You feel comfortable asking questions and using your authority to make decisions.
You are a consistent + effective communicator.
You value Campus Activities Board highly and are committed to making it the best it can be in all respects.
