TREASURER

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

The treasurer is a member of the CAB executive board who is charged with the oversight of all financial transactions, budgetary decisions, purchasing processes, and other necessary tracking of monetary information. This position is also a part of the “Admin.” team of the executive board.

DUTIES:

*Although the list below aims to be a comprehensive view of what this role will entail, all roles on CAB are subject to change and duties are likely to be expanded or contracted during your time serving in this role.

  • General Duties:

    • Maintain an up-to-date financial record of all business transactions, including but not limited to online purchases, SORC credit card purchases, returns, refunds, ticket sales, and merchandise sales.

    • Preside over all of CAB’s financial tracking platforms to make sure they are consistently updated and especially accurate. Most notably, this includes web*finance, but may also include other platforms.

    • Hold regular meetings with all individual committee directors to reconcile their respective committee budgets and transaction history.

    • Keep directors informed about all purchases that their committee members request to be made.

    • Compile an annual report of all expenses made during the fiscal year.

    • Coordinate the assembly of presentation materials for SAFAC’s annual allocation presentations in winter term.

    • Process all purchase requests and address any holdups with / questions about their payment.

    • Communicate with the CAB advisor/purchaser to make sure that all requested purchases are fulfilled within a timely manner and that all supplies will be acquired in time for their respective event.

    • Keep event planners informed about the status of their purchases.

  • Ticketing Management Duties:

    • Act as the main point of contact for the ticketing manager regarding any financial questions or concerns.

    • Oversee all ticketing transactions, including purchases and refunds.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / PREREQUISITES:

  • Required Experience:

    • No specific requirements.

  • Preferred Qualities:

    • This person should have some understanding of accounting, a relentless commitment to organization, and an interest in financial management.
